Mirai is 15 months today. I cant believe 15 months ago I was seeing this little baby who needed me and just slept and ate all day and night. Even though I was exhausted all the time, I miss it so much.

Chris started school Monday. To better his chances in having a less stressful semester, I am going to try to take more resposibility in anything that needs to be done. Starting with our house. The garage in particular. For the past week, Chris has been out there for hours at a time cleaning and organizing stuff. He has done a great job so far. What I need to do is find out how to get rid of the Chris's old Chrysler that has been in there for a year now. (If anyone know who to call to pick it up that would be great.) Then once the car is out of our hands, I can get to the attick to get rid of things we don't need. Which if it were me, everything would go in the trash. If I havent thought about it in more than a year ago, it shouldn't be taking up space in the attick. (With exception of Christmas/Holiday decor and stuff from our childhood.) Than my next project is to organize Mirai's room. Since she is starting to climb, run, jump, digg, pull, and push, that room needs to not only be baby- proof, but Mirai-proof! You don't understand man, she knows how to get a step ahead of you. Little punk princess brings havoc where ever she lurks! Moving on to our kitchen. Chris wants to put in shelves to go along the walls of the kitchen which will free up some room in our small kitch. I am going to install knobs for our cabnets. Never done it before but It will be a good project. There, This will be my plan so far til the end of the semester. Hope School rock for you Chris!

First of all I had to roll the dust off of our poor blog (or Blerg: My made up word for unblogged) and finally start using this again. It has been a while since I posted anything up but I just want to send out a big Thank You to all the Drennons, Brewtons, and Bells for all pitching in and helping Pete and Peggy with moving into their new diggs this month. There was quite a bit of work that everyone dedicated themselves for so thank you again. Chris has been visiting them often and doing what he can to help them out.

This is what you could call a filler post (expect a lot more filler this season . . .)

For Mirai's birthday she got a lot of fun gifts. One thing she received was a wooden stacking toy by Melissa & Doug which has has a rainbow of donut-shaped wooden pieces and a round top. At the party she was doing quite well. But today, she was like an assembly. She lays the pieces side by side, holds up the base, puts the pieces on one by one (in almost the right order), and tops it with the round piece. I clap my hands with praise, "Yay Mirai! You did it!" Grinning from ear to ear she turns to her achievement and raises her hand and CRASH! Down come the colored donuts on the floor. Just so she can do it all over again.

I took Mirai to Target today and like any other time i come here, I spend a majority of my time scouring up and down the isles and thinks to myself, "I need that... I'd be stupid NOT to have that... wait.. how often would he, she, I use this anyway... but it's sooo cool... how did I end up in my car? Oh well, It's too late to return it now. Chris will love it, I hope- who cares I love it." Or something of that nature but when taking Mirai along, it's what she needs. Thats important. Even though she is only 1, she knows what she NEEDS and I can't stop her, at least for now. So we're just so happening to pass along the swim suits and I stopped. "She needs a suit, she doesn't have one yet..." Before I can finish my rambling thought she was pulling and yanking on the one she wanted already. The crazy thing is she was pulling on her size anyway. How did she know? Just a coincidence, and also that was the only one of its kind left. It's so cute! IT'S NOT A 2 PIECE for one thing which doesn't makes since on a baby anyway. and it's striped green and white with green bows on the waist with a skirted attachment. She would let go of it long enough for me to give it to the cashier to scan it and she wanted it back right away. It's cute now but this will certainly not stand when she's older mind you, however, this kind of determination and persistence will come in handy in due time.

We spent our 4th at the Great-Grand Drennon's with Mirai's 1st and BBQ for everyone else! It was so much fun co's getting the Drennon, Bell, Brewton crew in one house is rare especially with more little ones running around. First we started out by celebrating Mirai's Birthday with a "summer bugs" themed party with petite fours and presents from the family. Thanks to older cousins Ben and Kennedy for helping Mirai open her gifts co's Mirai had no idea what was going on, she did however had her eyes set on one particular stacking toy that she mastered by the end of the afternoon. Thank you everyone for your presents.. and gifts.
Then, Mirai got a taste of her very own cake (all the kids had their initial on their piece :) and she gobbled that up- slowly. The only thing I was nervous about is that she wouldn't eat it at all, co's Chris was not a sugar junkie in his youth. I am pleased to know that my party favors for the cuz-crew were a hit. They each had buckets full of random trinkets but the main thing they seem to love were the paints and brush set. Ben and Kennedy held on to their paints patiently to them while everyone else were eating . "Can we paint now?" Kennedy asks her mom "In a little bit." Megan says. "Can we paint now?" she asks me 2 seconds later. I appreciate how much fun everyone had. Thanks to Pat, Tracy, Cindy, and Randy for the food and glow sticks for the children as well.
After having a severe case of the Itis, we chilled out and relaxed until the Fireworks displayed. The Grand- Drennons live so close to Bedford Boys Ranch we got the best seats! Just when the first pop in the sky occurred Mirai dozed off :) But it was a great day and a great night.

Mirai got some shoes at Nordstom for her birthday. She was so excited. All the shoes were eye level to her and so ou of the pile she knocked on the floor, we found some very cute shoes for her. She also got her picture taken and a balloon from the Nordstrom staff! Thank you Grandma Cheri and Nordstrom for a fun experience!
